Thanks to your comment, we found out that we actually HAD an PCI network card lying around (who&#039;d guessed?). It&#039;s installed, and now it&#039;s working again :) Simple and quick solution really.</description>

Then re detect new hardware, it then installs to default settings. if that does not work the network card maybe broken.

Or it can be the cable, have you tried another one?

If the card is really broken, you can use an PCI network card.
They cost around 15 tot 20 euro(s) (almost the same like dollars :) )
And can be installed without conflicts with the already present one.
