Fix’d!

June 3rd, 2009

CHKDSK saves the day, once again.

I canceled the ongoing CHKDSK/r process after going strong for AT LEAST 60 hours, and thought I’d try CHKDSK/f (before I got out my Linux LiveCD and tried saving as much as I could).

CHKDSK/f fixed everything.

And it didn’t even take an hour.

So I’ve wasted so incredibly must time and effort, just because I typed /r instead of /f. Goddammit. Well… guess it’s good, but it’s annoying. I’ve bought a new 500GB external hard drive, and I’ll be sure to back up everything to that one from now on.

Anyway, thanks for all the helpful and well wishing comments! :) See you guys Friday.

You should consider to copy all your data to a safe place and run a diagnostic software for your hardrive. My guess is, that the drive will be dead soon.

And I’m guessing you’re right. I’ll get on it.
