Restricted, but awesome

I’ve made fun of Windows on more than one occasion. People kinda expect that, it’s no big deal. Making fun of Linux and Linux users, however, is a little less expected.

I really like do like Linux though; but I just prefer something simple like Windows, where I know both Photoshop, games and whatnot will work. And sometimes I get the sense that Linux fanboys can be a bit smug, like they’re awesome just because they use Linux. Guess Mac users are even worse in that aspect though… :P (Heh, I’m probably pissing off a lot of people now).

EDIT: Due to a swamped weekend, there’ll be no new strip this Monday (23th). We’ll be back Friday :)

Nah, Pierre. That would be to much hassel for me, getting dual boot or wine or whatever to work and so forth and so on. ^^’ Plus, I’m not Leslie.

Having gone to college with several people who touted the awesomeness of Linux I LOVE this strip!

Guy: Dude, Windows sucks, Mac sucks, you should get Linux.

Me: But I need all these programs that can’t be installed on Linux.

    Guy: But…but Linux is better…

Me: How is it better when you can’t use it for anything practical?

Guy:…you can…there’s…psh..you’re not a computer guy, you just don’t know. HU-RUMPH! *Monocle pops off*

But on your case that certain programs doesn’t run on linux- I got one word for you: VirtualBox. Just installed Windows XP on my virtual HDD and both Photoshop CS3 and my games run perfectly. AND i can have both Ubuntu and Windows on at the same time. It’s like having to computers in one!

FYI: You can also use it in reverse, have windows and a virtual HDD with linux on it. PM me if you want more details :)

VirtualBox eh…? Not sure I quite get it, but it sounds great. But you can’t possibly get the same frame rate while playing, that you’d get with using only XP, would you?

If I ever by MY OWN computer, I might just try out running linux and windows simultaneouly. And if I do, I’ll be sure to talk to you first, Shinji. ^^
